1080p or 4k tv?

I just found out I've been playing games on a 720p tv for a few years lol. I always thought I had the most recent hardware but apparently I don't so I thought why not get a new tv to get 1080p? Then came the question; should I just get a 4k instead since technology will keep moving and it's been a while since 1080p has been produced?

Well 4K is still in its infancy & there isn't alot around it yet, whereas 1080p is the current standard. Could future proof yourself by getting 4K though. If you could afford it, go for it.

A 720 television is an ideal gamer TV. 95% of your video games come with native 720 graphics.

Buy a cheap 1080 panel, and the slow electronics trying to up-convert every frame of video will create large gamer lag.

The gamer lag will be worse on a 4K television.

Get a higher end 1080 panel if gaming is a main use for the TV.

For the very best picture there is a new standard called ultra 4k ,, so buy a new tv that has the new standard.

I recommend waiting the couple months until 8k comes out. Its sooo close. Just hold tight then upgrade.
