How much money do a movie have to make to be a box office hit?
I heard a movie have to make 30 million dollars and over to be a box office hit.They maybe wrong.

It depends upon the budget. Batman vs Superman, for example, made around $850 million dollars but was considered a flop because it barely broke even. But a small indie movie with a budget of $4 million or so would be a huge hit if it made more than $20 million.

It depends on the budget of the film. For these big superhero movies that cost like a couple hundred million to produce, they have to make like at least half a billion (maybe even closer to a billion) to be considered very successful. If a smaller movie only costs like $15 million to make or whatever and it crosses the $100 million mark then that's pretty good. I don't think any movie could make just $30 million and be considered a "hit" though. It could monetarily successful if its a really low budget movie but definitely not a hit.

I was told that for a film to be a financial hit, the movie had to gross 3X's the budget. So if a film costs $20 million and grosses $60 million then it's a hit.
