How can I write a poem with the theme of 'Reality Has Never Betrayed Me'?

I have to write a poem for school with the theme of Reality Has Never Betrayed Me but I am confused on what to write. Can someone describe the theme to me??

    This is all I can find..

    Write about you emotions and how they change all the time.

    We claim to be in control of our time, but are constantly anxious about the future. We think we know how to love, but repeatedly feel tossed around by our emotions.
