A Labrador is a double coated breed. Bred specifically to withstand very cold water. So, if your concerned about visibility, then there are reflective dog vests, collars and leashes you can purchase.

Now, since it's dark where you live, it may not be a bad idea for you to also have some sort of reflective vest or coat on.

The only time my dogs wear coats is when is Jan/Feb, brutal cold wind coming off the water or if it's snowing. My dogs are also double coated.

Labradors don't need coats although you might think about a reflective collar/harness? The more we add coats to those of our dogs who don't need them, the less likely they are to grow the natural coat they need for the Winter months - ditto for central heating (and air.con in summer). We've upset the natural cycle as it is.

I'm sure you'll find what you want on Ebay however. Why not wear a reflective jacket/gillet yourself and keep your dog on the side away from the traffic if you walk on lanes without pavements?

A Labrador comes fully equipped with the most amazing waterproof and windproof coat. A jacket might be too warm on the dog. I suggest either a reflective collar, harness or leash for your night walks.

I also found it very handy to use a headlight when walking - no flashlight to carry and they shine a wide path.

Very few dogs need a coat period.

They aren't dress up dolls, that's why they have fur which regulates their body temperature, both hot/cold, protects them from the elements and parasites.

Carry a flashlight and get a reflective collar.

Placing a coat on them defeats this purpose as it flattens the coat resulting in failure of the coat performing as it should.

search for "reflective dog vest" and you'll find items like those:

    http://www.kurgo.com/dog-jackets/reflect-and-prote...

    https://petflect.com/

either are lightweight and thin, but will increase the visibility of your dog in the dark. One has LED lights, the other doesn't.

I think anything along those lines will help.
