Is a knowingly false accusation of slander slanderous in of itself?

That's an interesting thought. So say I know you are lying, but I know you don't think you're lying, so I say you are committing slander, but since you aren't knowingly lying it isn't slander, am I committing slander. I mean let's say the main elements are there. You are lying and hurting my reputation and basically committing slander, EXCEPT you don't believe you are telling lies. So I'm basically trying to defend my reputation. So what it comes down to is my accusation somehow hurting you financially(as you are doing to me). If it isn't going to cost you any money then it's not slander. IF it is going to cost you money then actually yes it is slander, since I am knowingly lying and costing you money.
