Am I allowed to stop payment on my survivors benefits?

I live in California and my ex wife plans on screwing me over by collecting from my survivors benefits I collected throughout the years at the Post Office. Am I allowed to stop payment so that she cant get anything after I pass away? The divorce papers states it is irrevocable BUT in the survivors insurance notes it states that I SHOULD continue to pay into it. Perhaps I COULD stop payment?????

Update:

She planned the whole thing. During our marraige, she was seeing someone else. She committed adultry during our marriage.

Update 2:

She is from the Philipines and plotted the whole thing. I am 83 years old and she is 50 years old. You tell me screwed whom over. I am left with nothing. I left my 1st wife for her and this woman from the Philipines screwed me over!

Update 3:

YOUR survivors benefits DON'T EXIST. HER survivors benefits are a matter of LAW. If you fail to make any payments ORDERED by the court in your divorce, you can face criminal charges.

If you both were seen as one, you can stop the bennifits but only for yourself. It is seen that she had to put up with you and she must have spent a lot of time and she counted on this so she is entitled.

I fail to see how it's "screwing you over". You have to pay into social security regardless. Even if you were never married. Everyone pays into it. If she is entitled to collect it after you pass, what loss is it to you? No, what you are asking is if YOU can somehow screw her over and ensure that she is unable to collect benefits.

You'll be dead. Why should you care?
