Can I travel to Canada With One Way Flight Ticket With ETA Visa From UK?

I am a UK Citizen. I just got eta visa today by applying online. But I don't know if I can travel with one way flight ticket? Or I do I need a return flight ticket. And I don't know how long I can stay in Canada with eta? It says its valid up to 5 years. Please answer honestly by telling how long can I stay in Canada with ETA and whether I need a return flight ticket or not?

As part of the plan to LEAVE Canada at the end of your visit you are expected to show something that takes you OUT OF CANADA.

It does not need to be a return ticket to the place you just came from. You can return to some other Airport in UK or travel to some other country. JUST LEAVE CANADA.

    Most have a return ticket.

Canada Border Officials are well aware of games people play with pretending they will get a ticket later at some date in the Future.

If they do not believe you then you are on next flight back to where you came from.

VISITORS VISIT They LEAVE at the end of the visit.

They are expected to be able to pay for their reasonable plans while in Canada.

That you cannot afford a return ticket draws attention.

You DO NOT need a return ticket. You do need a REASONABLE EXIT CANADA PLAN.

. And I don't know how long I can stay in Canada with eta? I

Agent at the Airport will TELL YOU how long you can stay. The MAXIMUM is 6 months if you can afford it.

A border services officer at the port of entry in Canada will determine how long you can stay in Canada. Most visitors are allowed a six-month stay from the day they entered Canada. If the officer authorizes a stay of less than six months, they will indicate in your passport the date by which you must leave Canada.

If you want to stay longer than your authorized stay, you should apply for an extension at least 30 days before the authorized end of your stay.

If you're a UK citizen, the maximum stay is 6 months. However, it is subject to whatever the border agent allows you on the way in, it's not guaranteed to be that long. They will generally want to see some proof that you will be returning home at the end of your visit, and a one-way ticket is the complete opposite of the kind of proof they're looking for. You can still be admitted with a one-way ticket, but the border agents are going to spend more time looking into your stay.

The eTA itself is valid for 5 years, which just means that if you re-enter Canada again within the next 5 years, you don't need to apply for another eTA. You don't get to stay for 5 years.

You can stay for up to 6 months, if the Immigration officer authorises this. If you are told to leave by an earlier date this will be marked in your passport. To stay for six months you must show that you have enough money to support yourself and have enough for a ticket home. And you will be asked what you intend to do and see once in Canada.
