Why do olives taste so bad in northern europe?

Srsly, you can only get decent olives in Greece

Update:

I know that olives grow in the Mediterranean, I'm not stupid. The exported ones usually arent marinated correctly or smth because they are completely tasteless...

Update 2:

Like, I know they come from The Hellenic, Italia etc, but they are good there why in north they're tasteless?

    Olives don't grow in Northern Europe, so the olives you eat there will be Greek

    they could also be Spanish or Italian, both grow excellent olives
