TV screen goes black when PC is plugged in via HDMI, but returns to normal when the pc monitor is also plugged in via DVI.?
I recently purchased a Samsung Smart TV, and have been using it as my PC monitor via HDMI for a few days. However, the issue I have is that every time I turn on my computer, the screen is black, even though the TV says that they're connected. Until I also plug in my old HP monitor via DVI, the TV screen stays black, but once I plug in the old monitor, the TV screen works and then the PC monitor stays black. I have it set to PC screen only, as my TV is Screen 1.
Any idea how to have the TV screen work on startup, without all the fuss with the old monitor? It's really annoying to have to carry my monitor back up to the computer every time I want to use it.
This was poorly written because I was on cold meds; sorry. What I meant to say was I have my device settings set to "PC Screen Only" as opposed to "Extend" or "Duplicate". My TV Screen is set as Screen 1, and my PC monitor is set as screen 2. It's at 1920x1080 resolution. I'm not particularly tech savvy, so I'm not really sure what I need to include. My graphics card is a GTX 750 Ti, my driver is fully updated, I'm running on an Intel Core i7, my TV is connected to my Desktop through HDMI.
The TV is a Samsung 4k Smart TV, 43 inches. The old monitor is a HP Pavilion 23xi. I'm running on Windows 8.1. Not sure what else to add, sorry :/
