Is what I am doing on YouTube illegal?

Update:

I am downloading copyrighted instrumental tracks and singing to them, such as this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5U5MP7THo8

I want to know if I am doing something illegal, because I have used those tracks and sang to them in public places, so if this is illegal because they are copyrighted, I will stop immediately.

Ok First your should try giving the creator credit or ask permisson to use the song to avoid getting copyrighted another you can do is try to be creative here are results if you get copyrighted On YouTube, your Account may receive a strike (3 and you’re OUT!)

    Your audio may be muted

Ads may be placed on your videos, the benefits going to the original artist/publisher

You could be sued by the owner of the work you are using and try to find some song that are copyright free if you dont want to be copyrighted a way to get in contact with an artist is https://loudr.fm/ if your a musician

If they are royalty free, then you are allowed. If they are copyrighted and you do not have permission, then this is illegal. If they are copyrighted, all you need is permission and you are allowed.
