Is this a good way to put myself out there?
Hello, I'm 23 years old. My other job is retail where I do 2 or 3 days a week, part time. With so much spare time, I wash cars on the side to earn money (clean cars, wax, clean rims, interior cleaning, vacuum, wipe downs, clean door jams, complete detail). I have good prices. Im very motivated, and hate being home all the time.
Do you think it would look good, and professional if I called around to dealerships, and car lots to see if they have any cars they will like clean, and hopefully be a regular car care person for them? Benefits me as well as them.

Most major dealerships have lot people. That do this sort of thing. I would maybe look into smaller operations if possible and at first offer a steep discount to get them on board.

You're describing, "detailing." That you don't even know the terminology of the business you want to get into would be a major problem. And most car dealers already have detailers. You can watch want ads for open detailing positions but, you seem pretty unemployable.

Dealerships hire lot techs to wash and 'detail' their vehicles. A proper detail (i.e. not what a dealer does) can take close to a whole day of washing, clay barring, polishing, shampooing, conditioning, and cleaning under the hood. Dealers arent interested in doing all that unless it's a model that sits on the showroom floor. They want to spray them off, vacuum, hit it with a quick coat of wax, and move on to the next car.

If you can do remote detailing (own water supply) you could try offering the services to businesses in you area. Find a large organization and ask if it would be a good benefit to employees and if they could provide emails to their employees that you will be in the parking lot on certain days (probably monthly depending on demand) and will be detailing cars.
My company used to do it and the dates, prices and contact information to get on the list for getting your car detailed was provided in an email. I think the guy that did the detailing stayed pretty busy on those days.
