    Saddam Hussein was a Muslim who didn't practice it. But much like Adolph Hitler, he was not above using religion to inflame passions against his enemies. Tariq Aziz served under him in the years leading up to the Iraqi war. Aziz was a Christian, and as such Saddam had no worries about being supplanted by him because he knew the Iraqis would not stand for a Christian president.

    No, a Muslim. One of his ministers, Tariq Aziz was Christian.
