Illogical anti-religion statements (1) childhood indoctrination, (2) wishful thinking (fear of death) and (3) cognitive dissonance?

(1) History shows monotheism was universal in the beginning and Developmental Psychology shows children are naturally theist.

(2) Death is fearful and judgment is worse. The question is first what is the truth of the matter. Fear may or may not be justified. It is wishful thinking for a fool to dismiss religion and God because they don't want judgment to be true !!!!

3) CD is just a stupid claim...every human being must have some undigested truths (or falsehoods) as life goes on

"If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent Him." - Voltaire.

What do you think of this? To me, it says that Human Nature is naturally tending towards an answer. We certainly have many questions:

    "Why are we here?"

"What is the meaning of life?"

"Why do bad things happen to good people?"

If there is no apparent answer, Humans invent a reason. This is to make sense of the world. In the easiest of terms, the answer people flock to is 'There's a big ol' dude in the sky with a beard who's looking after all of us."

It's easy. It's comforting. It takes away any personal responsibility in our current life. It's the opiate of the masses.

    "It's just God's plan"

    (1) Bullshit.. or maybe a lie.

    (2) More bullshit or perhaps a bigger lie.

    (3) Most bullshit...Most dishonest.

Face it.... There is no God.

Cognitive dissonance is very real in every intelligent believer's mind.

An internal fight between logic and fantasy.

How do you reconcile all those lies with your god thingy? It always amazes me that the religious need to lie so much, and are so willing to lie so much to sell what even they know is untrue. So scared of reality and of death that you try to lie them away.

That never did work, and it won't work again. Why openly choose to be such a loser?

1 and 3 most likely. People want love and atheism cannot provide that. In fact it provides nothing but meanness. Plus you'd have to have to be truly out of your mind to be an atheist. Don't you want to live??
