Humility and pride are opposites and gratitude is similar to humility.

Pride is enmity or hatred against God and our fellow men. The proud person is always seeking to raise himself above others by putting others down and rejects the council of God in favor of his own intellect. The prideful person does not necessarily want more but instead wants more than someone else. Pride is easily seen on freeways and in politics.

The humble person remembers to be grateful for what he has, seeks to serve others and seeks Gods council.

Humility is the proper attitude for slaves and servants and women under sharia law. For everyone else low self esteem is a nasty disability best overcome sooner than later if one expects to be something other than an a$$-licker. Rolls eyes
