Need advice on Christmas gifts for teens.?

I am buying Christmas gift items for a local homeless shelter. There are families as well as adults living there, and that includes teenagers. The director of the shelter says teens like "tech-oriented" gifts. Can you suggest items that are not too expensive? She suggested earbuds, but that sounds sort of boring to me (but then I'm too old to know "what the kids like"). I would be grateful for any advice you can give me.

These kids are homeless or in need so what the 'kids like' probably isn't going to help them.

I'd get them some cheap but warm clothes. Primark or something like that you can buy some things. Young girls especially would probably really appreciate things like underwear, socks, t-shirts and maybe even a bra. Boys would appreciate much the same. Teens do actually like these.

Gift cards for iTunes or Amazon

Gift cards for McDonalds etc....., or Bath and Body Works

If they're in a homeless shelter they might possibly need socks, gloves, underwear, bras and stuff.

For a girl a gift card to get her nails done or her hair cut

    Movie passes

You can also call your local school and ask the guidance counselor for suggestions. They know what teens like and what would be especially good for those in shelters. You want to give them something they want opposed to something they need - even if I did suggest socks and stuff.

You can get real cheap iPod and MP3 players these days, ear phones and headphones are a good one, wireless speakers can be bought for around £10 in Sainsburys. It's pretty hard to buy tech items that aren't too expensive!

Depending on how much you want to spend some other (but can be expensive) ideas are phones, games consoles, dvd players, laptop and ipads, these can all be bought second hand sometimes pretty cheap in places like CEX or Game x

Warm clothes or items like gloves or knit caps would be great. These are more important than earbuds. Even items like toothbrush/toothpaste would be great.

I wouldn't get them anything tech related because unless they can always charge the device it will be useless.
