How big are the Pillars of Destruction?
The Hubble Telescope took pictures of the so called Pillars of Destruction back in the mid 90s. Do we have any idea how big they are?
Thanks!

I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about because the Pillars of Creation is the iconic Hubble image.
Hubble took pictures of the Pillars of Creation in the Eagle nebula it is about 5 light years across.

As for the pillars of destruction, they are in the Carina Nebula the pictures were taken by MUSE attached to the VLT (the very unimaginatively named Very Large Telescope)

Part of that structure is called "Mystic Mountain" which is about 3 light years tall.

To confuse matters NASA and others, in an attempt to explain that these clouds are being destroyed have released articles saying the Pillars of Creation are actually pillars of destruction but this is not because the Pillars of Creation have been renamed it's just an explanation that the very processes that brought them into being is currently destroying them. The Pillars of Destruction in the Carina Nebula were so named as an homage to the iconic Pillars of Creation images taken by Hubble.
