What is your version of Word and what do you mean by "won't work"?
Without knowing exactly what the bullets "are not doing" for you I will just draw a conclusion that you are experiencing a software bug:
- do you have a pirate copy of Word? If so that's your issue
- if you have a legal copy, then you need to install your windows updates which includes updates for Word as well. Software bugs in Windows and Office software are resolved with patches that come down via windows updates, this is why I say you need to install them
