I'm going to eradicate this part of the question: to the current music trends in music....today because there is none with the exception of one band. But as far as a song that resonates the culture alone today it would be this one. The song equivalent to what's going on at The Standing Rock Sioux. They are bearing a real "Soul Sacrifice" for ancient heritage and their land.

But there is one band that has never gotten their due and this song from them reminded me of this one, only they display it with just three members. These guys also carry out the tradition of a jam. All three brothers are outstanding musicians. Too bad people only seem to know them for one lone song. IMO Henry Garza is the best guitarist out there of the last 13 years.

Gal, as a guy who came of age back then, I'm gonna go right off the rails, 'flying my freak flag. The whole gig was a rejection of over-analytic head-trip crap, and an embrace of heart and soul. I really need to STFU, but pleeeeeze don't try to overthink this. That's as relevant as I can be.
Wish I could post Jimi's "If 6 was 9" for you, but more bean-counters keep it from us.
Here's a substitute:

Many of us went off to war then, which was also over-analyzed, while we got "dissected".
Sorry. This just pushes an old sore spot that will never heal.
