You need to attack this from three angles.
1) Allergy. Basically, clean your house and use air filters. You should replace your bed pillow often, and wash your sheets often. Most allergies are from common house hold dust.
2) Infection. You need to clear up the infection. Use a Nati Pot. It's just salt water that you run through your nasal cavities. Make sure you use bottled water, don't use tap water.
I also use some stuff called Healthwise Face and Sinus wash. You can order it on the internet.
3) You need to look at what medication your taking. A lot of sinus medication has a bounce back effect, where it will temporary help your sinuses, but when it wears off then your sinuses get worse. I don't understand why they even make such a thing.
If your on a medication with a bounce back effect, then your just going to have to go through 2 or three weeks of hell. There's just no other way. You need to stop cold, and suffer through the bad sinuses. Sorry.
I use a very watered down solution of hydrogen peroxide. I buy the 3 percent solution that you can get at any store, and then I add a small amount of that to a cup of water. Then I dip a q-tip into that and then stick the qtip up my nose. It will loosen up the mucus and it will flow out. I keep doing that until it's all clear.
I had surgery to widen my nostrils. I don't know if it helped or not. I know it wasn't a big difference. Be warned, the week after the surgery was the absolute worse week of my life. Your nose is all taped up and you can't blow your nose.
