The typical democratic materialist responds there is nothing but bodies and languages, to which the materialist dialectician adds, "with the exception of truths." Truth is the process of attainment, one never achieves truth, one merely achieves the attempt to achieve them. It is elusive because a truth has to be universal and particular, reflexive and revealing. It has to mean something to a large social body and individuals within it, it has to be self-evident and open up a view of the world that wasn't considered previously. It is by its very nature a seemingly contradictory untruth.

Truth is where facts lead us.
Nothing but facts can lead to truth, without facts it becomes only rhetoric.
One truth is that all people breathe air, and all of the facts support this truth.

"Truth" is based on subjective facts. There is no such thing as objective truth, in the social sciences.
