Why did you get into hacking?

I am writing a paper on hacking. One part is about the hackers themselves, or the interest and reasons behind hacking. I am not asking if you have hacked or if you did anything illegal. But I would just like to know, what is the reason you started or got more into hacking.

    I'm not a hacker for a living but I did get into it. I simply just enjoy computers, being able to do almost anything with them is a big plus
