I think I have pneumonia?

I've been having a really sensitive left side of my upper chest. Right around my heart but I think it's my lungs. I've had light sensitivity and slept on my right side because it was so. Just until today when I woke up, I notice that the sensitivity shot way up, and I had a slightly harder time breathing.

I'm planning to go to a clinic very soon, but I'm wondering since I currently don't have any health insurance, would a normal clinic have the proper tools to check my diagnosis and how much would it cost?

I'm considering heading straight to the ER or hospital if the clinic can't help me find what's wrong.

Update:

I've had this sensitivity for about a week, but just today it shot up in it's symptoms.

Also, some less useful information but maybe can help anyone link the problems. I recently had a groin pain, but it has since greatly reduced. It started out as a sensitivity problem as well. It wasn't directly my groin, but it felt like the attaching nerves to the pelvis. It has been about two months since that has gone away and lasted about a month.

Update 2:

Also, before I got the groin pain, the very first thing that caused this seemingly but possibly unrelated health problems, was when I ate a really hot pepper... It caused me to get gastritis and I bought over the counter medication to help. It's been about four months since it has gone.

Update 3:

I live in California btw. ty

I don't know what you mean exactly by "sensitivity," but what you are describing doesn't seem like pneumonia. Pneumonia is not always easy to recognize from symptoms alone, but people with pneumonia almost always have two complaints: persistent cough and fatigue.

If "sensitivity" means soreness, then maybe you have costochondritis. At any rate, starting at a walk-in clinic is the best bet. Your situation is not an emergency,. so you definitely do not need to waste money on a visit to the ER. If the condition needs more than a walk-in clinic can provide, they will send you to a specialist, which is the same thing that would be done in the ER. for non-emergencies.
