I am building a large finch bird cage. How many birds can I stock in it? Details below.?
The cage will measure 78 inches high 36 inches wide and 16 inches deep. How many finches could live comfortably in an enclosure of this size?

Birds are happier in a cage that is longer than it is tall since they fly more left-right than up-down. A tall cage, however, is better to walk into, if you need to do that. But I would think of this cage as basically being 36 x 16". That's not terribly big. Maybe 4 finches.
