Kindle Fire HDX overheating?

After using my Kindle for a couple of hours, I noticed that part of the Kindle was very hot when I touched it, and hurt my hand. I had been using my Kindle for extended periods of time before this, but had never had it heat up like this. Any fixes?

    Using it under the air conditioner cooling air outlet. Also, change the battery from time to time to avoid overheat or even explode.
