Do you prefer the Beatles White Album in mono or stereo?
Well since the Beatles White Album was released 48 years ago on this day and With the Beatles was released 53 years ago on this day, I figured I'd ask this question.
I also should ask, why did you choose mono or stereo?

I've never heard the mono version but I'd always go for a stereo version IF that was the way it was meant to be heard. Stereo has a broader sound, is more interesting to listen to and you can hear the individual parts better.
The only time I'd prefer mono would be if that was originally all that was available. I've heard some dreadful "stereo" versions on mono recordings with the vocals on the left and everything else on the right (I have a single of Surfer Girl by The Beach Boys like that) which are unlistenable in stereo.

Right on the industry transition from mono to stereo, this was in both. Frankly, I prefer several other Beatles album to this one, but that's just me. I already had a number of 50's rock LP's in mono, as there was no option then, but most of us rushed out to buy stereo players as soon as possible. Just sounded richer and better. Try spending a day with one ear plugged, for a demo.

I've never listened to it in mono, just a few of the songs. It's supposed to have a few differences here and there, I'd be interested in trying to catch them next time.
