Most experienced players would say to go with a low deflection shaft. A low deflection shaft is designed to lessen the amount of squirt caused by using English (left or right spin) on the cue ball. There are many different brands out there to choose from including Predator, McDermott, OB and more. Which one is the best is generally a matter of personal preference. I use a Jacoby Edge Hybrid shaft myself but I live about an hour from that cue manufacturer in WI so I'm probably a bit biased. These cue shafts are geared toward a more experienced player and cost between $200-300. Hope that helps.
