Stop motion isn't dying and why is everyone telling me I cant do it!?
Why is everyone telling me I cant do something because it seems next to impossible?
I honestly believe I can do what I want to do and make an amazing career out of it. Stop motion animation... everyone is saying ''everyone wants to do that, you're no different'' ''its a dying trade'' blah blah blah.
1. I don't think its something everyone wants to do and not everyone can do it... I however love the attention to detail, the time spent on it and the art created.
2. I know its not a sort after media... but it never really was. Small scale scenes are still built for blockbusters... I turned the tv on tonight and there is a movie I have never watched before... theres stop motion in it...

Let me tell you something, everyone you say who is advising against this, knows that art doesn't pay the bills. Listen to me from experience.
I went to school and got an art degree, and I am now a bartender. Why? Not because I cannot get a job in my field of study, but because ART DOESN'T PAY THE BILLS. The phrase "starving artist" was coined because, the fact that, artists are indeed starving.
If you go to school for this study, you most likely will not make enough to pay back your loans or enough to support yourself. Even if you make 15-20 an hour, your loans to pay back your school will be upwards of $500 a month.. plus rent, car, etc.. see where I am going.
If you really want to work in this industry, do it without an expensive formal education. Try to get in interning and work your way up. Or if you still live with your parents, pursue it now. While you can "afford" to.
Unless your parents have money and will pay upfront for your school and rent, then go for it.
You should look at the future growth projection of this particular job. If it is not predicted more than 5% growth in the next 5 years, I would be worried. That means there will be 10 college graduated trying to get this job and only 1 job actually available in the real world. So many qualified people going for one job. And people in these positions currently, are not likely to quit..
GOOD LUCK!
