Was he nervous when he saw me?

So I saw this guy I went to hs with at dollar general. And he was in line and there was a guy in between us. He kept looking out of the corner of his eye at me and he had a little smile on his face. Then he would put his basket down and then he would fidget/fiddle with these umbrellas that were in a stand. And then we went to separate cash registers and he was waiting on the cashier to answer him and he stood there for a second and was looking at me and had a little smile on his face. Then I left out and I was in the car and my mom and I were talking and he walked out and looked at me. But I was just wondering if he was nervous because he liked me? Because long story short, he always showed mixed signals in school. Like he would stare at me everyday and sometimes he'd smile and other times he would glare. Then he would talk bad about me saying I was creepy, weird, annoying or that he tries to avoid me and that he doesn't like me. And bring me up to people when they were talking about something totally different. Then he would also say good things about me like he thinks I'm pretty and cute and he would say "I-I really like her." Just a backstory so you guys probably know why I'm confused. Please help!
