This happens all the time, unfortunately. If you think something illegal or unethical occurred, consult an attorney.

PS: I saw your other question which provided details. Doctors are notorious for charging a fortune for a simple exam. It might help to contact Medicare and they can determine if this charge was fraudulent:

The US medical industry is a for profit business. We are profit centers. Our "trusted and beloved" doctors are not healers! They are salesmen for drugs and procedures. The longer they can keep us feeling ill, and returning to them, the more money they make. They carefully stay within "established guidelines" so that we can't legally do anything to them. Worse yet! If one of them makes a blatant error, the others will testify that he did nothing wrong!!

  • Marylin when this happened and you notice it you need to report it to the Medicare Hotline for Fraud, you can search for their web site and there will be a toll free number to call.

This happens all the time, and you need to report it to Medicare, and have them investigate it.

Report the doctor to the medical association.

Hi Marilyn, great to see you again but sad to hear of your dilemma.

Like others have suggested I fear that legal intervention will be needed here...
