Royalty are immediate family members of a past or present monarch. In the United Kingdom, the children of the monarch, the male-line grandchildren of the monarch, and the children of the eldest son of The Prince of Wales are royalty.

The Nobility, also known as the Peerage, are people who have been granted titles by the monarch, or who have inherited such titles from their ancestors. Dukes, Marquesses, Earls, Viscounts, and Barons are all Peerage titles, in order of rank. Until 1999, they had the right to sit in the House of Lords. Only Life Peers are allowed to do so now. Life Peers, as the name suggests, are members of the Peerage only for the duration of their lifetime, and may not pass on their titles to their offspring. Some Hereditary Peers are also Life Peers, allowing them to sit in the House of Lords as they did in the past.

The monarchy comprises royalty--King, Queen Regnant, Prince, Princess, Grand Duke, whom is a prince who heads a Grand Duchy, Emperor, Empress, Queen Consort, Prince Consort, Prince/Princess Regnant, the head of a principality.

Nobility is the non-royal peerage, the dukes, duchesses, marquesses, marchionesses, earls, countesses, viscounts, viscountesses, barons and baronesses. Nobility also includes landed gentry, often untitled relatives of peers, baronets. Some knights and dames are also part of the nobility.

Not all royals receive money for being royal. In the UK, official working royals and the monarch are funded through revenues from the Crown Estate, the Duchy of Normandy, the Duchy of Cornwall. Official government expenses are paid by the Crown Estate and for the Prince of Wales and family, the Duchy of Cornwall. Personal monies comes from the duchies and various businesses run from the estates of Balmoral, Sandringham House and Highgrove House.

Other monarchies have their own financial set ups to fund their monarchical governments.

Peers earn money from various businesses they run.

Wages, nobility get what they are given, and Royalty get what they want even if they don't deserve it or even need it.
