Is all beef that comes from New Zealand grass fed?

I was told my someone that New Zealand beef is all grass fed, and lately I've been buying canned corned beef from New Zealand and want to make sure I'm actually getting what I'm paying for.

The only cattle which are not grass fed in New Zealand are a few high value animals which are used in the production of Provimi Veal.

Trust me, none of those finish up in a tin of Corned Beef! Provimi Veal Eye Fillet is about $70 a kilo!

There are very large areas of grass in New Zealand, it makes no economic sense to feed beef cattle any other way. In winter they are fed hay or silage, which is essentially ''pickled grass''

What you're paying for? You're paying for corned beef. A cheap processed beef product.

I can't speak for all the farms, but the vast majority of them have grass fed cows, which also have the usual hormones, boosters, animal feed and so on.
