Having fun is the easy part, but try to focus on why you're really going to college and choose your friends carefully.

College will be a bit of a culture shock to many high schoolers. For most it means freedom of restraint from parents. I suggest that you literally and figuratively don't get drunk on that freedom. Unless you are on a full scholarship or your family is rich, your parents are making a great effort to try and make sure your life will be better than they had it at your age. The world you are growing up in is far more complex with so many choices open to you, that it takes a lot of strength of character to focus on a goal. It isn't just your studies, but college social life that will present challenges. Of course don't forget the homework. In college classwork is only about one third of the course. Homework is the rest. It is an exciting time try to make the best of it.
