No. Not only because it's one of the greatest films of all time that would be nearly impossible to improve in any way, but I think sharks have become so ingrained in pop culture and we know so much about them now that any new shark movie ends up feel redundant whether it's a remake or not. Back in 1975, Jaws actually made people terrified of the beach. But now we've seen Jaws and it's sequels and all the movies that ripped it off and there's shark week and there's just no way a Jaws remake is going to have even 1/10th of the impact that orginal had on movies and on audiences.

If they're going to do a remake, they should bring something new to the story, make it an improvement over the original. If they can't do that, then they shouldn't bother doing a remake.

Its like suggesting to remake Casablanca or Citizen Kane. Absolutely no point.
Upgrading the shark is not going to improve the movie because it was all about the characters and their battle against nature.
