Can a person who appreciates honesty actually care more for that than whetever the truth is?

It's just so annoying how some people say that they don't care what they're told as long as it's the truth. How is that even possible? Plus, the idea that someone can't be upset over being told something since it's the truth is really stupid. Why would something being true make it somehow okay no matter what it is? Like, being honest and even apologetic is not some get-out-of-jail-free card

I'm sure people who say that don't actually mean it's okay to do whatever as long as it's not lied about. But I'm also sure they would rather get told the truth and get over it than be lied to, and maybe never find out the truth at all, some people grow up around liars and then grow up to be the opposite and want the opposite, so even little lies could upset them.

People like honesty as long as it doesn't wind up hurting their

pride by pointing out something negative about them.

The truth is a fixed entity, it's factual, non-judgmental, it simply is.

Honesty is a much more subjective term, it includes beliefs, and perspective, but also opinion, and observations.
