if Dodge on the brink of NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series, which team will be Dodge NASCAR first customer?

For the record they aren't on the brink, its basically early talks at this point. May not happen, though I hope it does. Also for the record it is not a given that the new series name would be the Monster Energy Cup Series. That is to be announced. There have been talks about dropping the word Cup from the name & the word Premier has been mentioned several times.

To answer the question, that's a tough one. I guess it would depend on availability of factory support & which team wants to become the lead team for that manufacturer. Moves which have happened in the past with JGR going to Toyota, Penske going to Ford & now more recently in something of a take over for that position SHR going to Ford.

First off even though I always loved Dodge in Nascar, they are not returning in 2017 as the talks are very early.

as for the teams that switch to Dodge, I say Chip Ganassi and Penske would be the frontrunners
