    What does "(cot theta + theta)" mean?

    cos(π/2 - θ) = x/3

    cos(π/2)cosθ + sin(π/2)sinθ = x/3

    0·cosθ + 1·sinθ = x/3

    sinθ = x/3

    cos²θ = 1-sin²θ = (9-x²)/9

    cosθ = √(9-x²)/3

    cotθ = cosθ/sinθ = √(9-x²)/x
