I live in Colorado... What are the self defense laws here?

I looked online, but the information was a bit confusing to me. For example: Let's say someone is able to kick my front door in even with the dead bolt locked. If I stand behind my front door with a steak knife in my right hand, hidden behind my wrist, am I allowed to use the steak knife in self defense if the intruder saw me and came at me? Or, would I go to jail for injuring the intruder?

You can defend yourself against someone that breaks into your house. You can use anything you have if you believe you are in danger.
