should I buy a newer truck or old one?

I have 2700$ I cant decide to spend 2500$ on a decent one with lower miles or a old beaten up ford for 1000$. they both have pros and cons but I'm just looking for some opinions.

I have only driven old cars and trucks for years. It only makes sense to me if you can fix problems your self. Ex.93 Camry I have part from ebay to fix the alternator. Last time it was coil in distributor. Then I fixed the power steering pump, Egr valve and Idle control valve. If you going to pay someone $60/hr and new part price prepare to spend. Iget 10 years out of car and averaged cost of$100/yr maintenance

Without knowing the makes, models and years of the cars you are looking at, and without a mechanic looking at the both of them, this cannot be usefully answered.

Does your cash stash include paying to register and insure the vehicle ?
