Global warming?

It is a black or white thing, a republican or democrat kind of issue, very few people see a middle ground.

Is there Man made global warming? probably but it does not seem to be significant, according to scientists we have had significant and increasing amounts of CO2 in our atmosphere since the 1950's but we have had very little warming since then.

The big question is would some warming be bad? I think not, in fact I think it would be beneficial, more food crops grown, more food for our growing populations.

The dangers have all been wildly exaggerated, and made to look silly now, all the predictions of disasters and catastrophe have not happened, extreme weather did not increase, sea level rise did not accelerate, wild heat waves did not happen (well no more than usual) and thousands more still die from cold.

I think it is a big topic because it is tied to politics.

Imagine if no one had ever told you about global warming, would you be thinking it was happening from your own experiences.

Are you kidding? I think much of the stuff deniers come up with is hilarious, there is no debate about the science here. Science debates amongst scientist can well be heated, but at least they don't deny the evidence. They might well question the evidence and the proper way to deal with questionable evidence is to do their own tests. None of that is happening here...

For example one top contributor here, repeatedly claims that "Justice and equality are codewords for communism" and people will give him thumbs up for it.... (as if Justice and equality could not exist under any other economic system.)

Another recurring conspiracy theory is that "it is a scheme to tax you more". As if thousands of scientist all over the world are all secretly falsifying their published science papers in order to persuade politicians to increase taxes on every one, including the climate scientist.

How is that not funny?

Actually its not "a lot of people" , only a very loud & obnoxious comparatively small group of people who want to control all the rest of us & are currently trying to use the "global warming: issue to get freedom restricting laws passed.

You may have noticed a lot of U.S. TV news story's about dangerous "killer clowns" few weeks ago.

The global warming issue is similar to the fake "killer clown" issue except on a much larger world wide scale.

Some people just like to pretend to be constantly worried about one thing or another all the time.

Its completely made up. If a few very big volcanos go off and ash gets into the atmosphere for years you will then have global cooling. Anything Al Gore or Hollywood hacks push I will know they are lying.
