Why is the solution to y=(2x-9)^1/2 x greater than or equal to 9/2?

I am confused with the greater than or equal too. I thought you had to make 2x-9 just greater than 0. Is it because its a radical?

If you are staying in real numbers, what's under the radical has to be non-negative.

So there are no values for y when x < 9/2
