Can you carry your gun anywhere if you have a permit?

I kind of find it hard to believe that you can just carry a gun in to, let's say a restaurant. I mean, are there really permits that let you do that. I'm specifically talking about New York City.

Where I live the firearm has to be holstered and visible. No, not everywhere. I can't carry mine at work. There's a big poster that says "firearms are not permitted on this job site".

EVERY jurisdiction in the US has limits regarding where a firearm can legally be carried, even with a CCW. At minimum, FEDERAL law restricts carrying in many Federal offices.

i am unsure with NY laws but i know with MA if you have a concealed permit you can legally take anywhere EXCEPT where booze is served so not in bars or restaurants with bars, also you can not bring into places of worship. but im pretty sure it veries from state to state.

Private business can generally decline customers who are carrying.
