Shave private area?

This is an awkward question... I haven't yet gone in for my first gynecologist visit but when I do... are u supposed to shave all ur *private* hair. Or should I not? Plz help!

    its a personal preference :) the gyno has seen all types so dont worry about what they may think.

    No you are NOT supposed to shave for a gynecologist visit. There is actually no good reason to shave there. The hair is there to protect from dirt and bacteria. When girls do shave there, the next day there is itchy stubble coming in that can make them miserable and it's a turn off to guys. You would need to shave almost every day to keep the sharp hair away.

    No, you're not supposed to shave.

    Pubic hair is there for a reason, it is normal and healthy to have pubic hair - a gynecologist is perfectly aware that as a human being if you've entered puberty you will have pubic hair, they expect to see pubic hair so it's absolutely fine.
