What do you think Are many of the problems between religious and non religious people is because of the use of absolutes? See details?

I notice as an unbeliever that my biggest beef is with the use of phrases like "All loving god," or "All powerful god" because these words exclude exceptions and raise most of the problems with religion. Like, if god is all powerful, why not simply order evil to not exist? If god is all forgiving, whence is hell? All means just that. all. No exceptions.

I agree with you both sides lay claim to the the 'know as a matter of fact' when they don't. However most atheists will bend saying prove god exist and I could accept that god. Also it is the claimant's obligation to prove their claim. Crap coming from a book without a means to prove it is no more than old grapevine news stories. A god before the creation is just so silly. Prior to the creation it had nothing to be god to so it was what the god of nothing? Prior to anything it had no beloved to love, prior to the creation what was to know? Prior to creation how could it function, how could it even be? Even spirits are considered by most to be some kind of matter or energy. Yet they think we accept everything came from nothing. There whole story is full of holes and lacks logic. A magic sky daddy that could do things in a materialistic way, who spoke the word that resonated in a vacuum in god language, when there was no ear to hear it. Who was not a social being to start, who could do anything and have it the way 'he' wants. Yet enjoys getting frustrated by giving out freewill only to upset himself. I could go on but really how blinded does one have to be?

The world is full of absolutes

if you don't like them, you are going to have a hard life

Evil exists because the all powerful God allows us to make choices,...and we do evil

The statement that there are no absolutes is an absolutist statement. So if it is true then it is a lie because there would be at least one (that there are none) and if one exists then why not more outside YOUR knowledge or experience

It takes two for a relationship though. One spouse can be all loving and all forgiving, the other can be hateful. We all have a relationship with God and that's why people go to hell, it's not God's fault, people choose it. God can be all loving and people still choose hell

You don't understand what your saying here. God is so LOVING that He gave the Earthly life of His Son for our Sins. Once we accept Him as our Savior, This all goes bye,bye ! Hell is by Choice. OURS..

if you don't believe in absolutes then your philosophy of the world is chaotic and meaningless.

  • Not interested in what religion says or does. God hates religion.

Christians love God, therefore hate religion.

Religion is evil. It draws you away from God.

Cancer patients repent on their deathbeds; cowards become martyrs during wars; WW3 will kill porn spreaders; hell exists because of free will (people don't want to go to heaven; it's their choice); forgive me.

I DON'T HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THEISTS.....THEY SEEM TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ME...CALLING ME NAMES....IF THEY WOULD LEAVE WE ATHEISTS ALONE THERE WOULD BE NO PROBLEMS.

WHY DO THEISTS FEEL THE NEED TO INTERFERE IN OUR LIVES? I'M OLD ENOUGH TO MAKE UP MY OWN MIND AND SUITABLE RESEARCH.

    PLEASE JUST LEAVE US ALONE.
