Any tips on slowing down on Alcohol next year?

I'm seriously considering slowing down on Alcohol next year, not because I see my alcohol consumption as a problem, but because it's not exactly healthy and it can be quite expensive.

The last 2 weeks I barely even touched $50 of alcohol because my younger brother drank most of it, normally that might, last me 2 months, but it was gone in like 2 weeks or less.

I mean I know I probably shouldn't be drinking, but I rarely actually lose control and I haven't even cut myself in like 4-5 years, even when I drank too much.

I know I'm diagnosed as BIPOLAR-NOS, but I really don't think I'm doing so bad.

Thanks for reaching out! It's great that you are thinking about cutting down on your alcohol intake.

You might want to think about telling friends and family about your intention to cut down on drinking. These people can help hold you accountable. You can also get involved in therapy or counseling, so that you'll have long-term support as you work to cut down on drinking.

If you need immediate assistance, consider calling a crisis hotline, where a counselor can listen, provide support, and give you referrals to local resources that may be of help to you.

    Take care!

I suggest a legal herbal product called kratom. Use that in place of alcohol, but not with. It will keep you from getting depressed, you could even get a happy euphoric feeling from it, it will keep you sociable & easy to get along with, and what's best is that doesn't impair your physical functions. A whole lot people have used kratom to quit drinking. The only drawback is that kratom is a bit addicting. But it is perfectly legal as of now.

Many people with mental illnesses use drigs or alcohol to self medicate, all it does is get you addicted, so now you're an alcoholic with Bipolar.

It's better to drink as little as possible for many reasons.

Try cutting down. If you don't succeed, there are groups like Alcoholics Anonymous for people who need to practice total abstinence.
