Perhaps it should be
"Who is that person about whom so many improbable stories, legends, and lies have been told, to the point where millions believe them?"
After all, televangelists tell lies about Jesus EVERY DAY.
They claim Jesus wants people to send money TO the televangelists.
And no God, neither Father, Son, nor Holy Spirit, uses any of their INFINITE POWER to make those liars stop.
