Strange thoughts and dreams about ex?

Question

So I dated someone when I was young, and he was quite abusive. He assaulted me sexually on numerous occasions, called me stupid, grabbed me and hit me so hard I bruised on multiple occasions. Above all, he was a grade A douche bag. 
But recently, he came back into my life unfortunately (his family is close to my family) and I'm having weird dreams and thoughts about him. It's almost like I miss being with him. Which,  I know for a fact I don't. But these thoughts and dreams remind me of the few moments he wasn't abusing me, and how he seemed so nice... Gosh. Could they be because I've been single and a little lonely for a little while? I really don't like thinking about him at all, especially in a way that makes me wanna get back into a relationship with him.

What stupidity to go back to a sexual predator!  It amazes me.  It shocks me.  "I really don't like thinking about him....but I am single and a little lonely."  Do you hear yourself talk?   "He was abusive.  He assaulted me sexually on numerous occasions, called me stupid, grabbed me and hit me so hard I bruised on multiple occasions."  That man should be arrested and in jail for what he did to you, and you should not be so lonely you go back to a sleaze like him.  Call the police and make a report about the sexual abuse you endured at his hands.  Stop wallowing in your ugly past with this degenerate scum and do something positive for yourself.  This monster should be made to pay for his crimes against you.  Grow some balls and act like an adult, rather than a horny teen.
