Help with a square root math problem?

Switzerland’s flag is a square, unlike

other flags that are rectangular.

21. Suppose a seamstress is making a

flag that has to have an area less

than 50 square meters. What is the

longest length, to the nearest tenth,

the sides can be?

(Hint: side = √Area )

    √50 = √(25×2)

    = √25×√2

    = 5×√2

    ≅ 5×1.41

    ≅ 7.1 m

    sq rt (50) = 7.071 <<< do NOT round up ... area would be >50

    7.0 m on each side
