Can you carry passengers if you're an adult with a driving permit?

My wife wants to get her Permit, but the only person available to teach her to drive is me (her husband), and we have 2 kids. While she is learning to drive, is it legal to have our 2 kids in the car while she's driving with per permit?

    In most states it would be legal but you need to check on the web site for your own state's DMV.,
