Theists, if God is real, then how do you explain terrible things in the world, for example, Donald Trump, banks, mosquitoes etc.?

You cannot have light without darkness. Unless of course you make it to heaven, but that's another story. At that point you will have chosen a reality comprised entirely of light.

You're free to have as much darkness and light as you please. This is God's gift to you, you are not forced to be subservient and in harmony with God, you are not forced to live, you are not forced to be happy. If you were forced to be some kind of puppet, forced to wear a smile, forced to be a loving kind person - then the One who created you would not be worthy of anyone's love.

Life, death, pain, pleasure, these are all your choice and the only question that matters is - what do you want? Because anything you want, you can have.

If you really want a world without Donald Trump, banks, mosquitoes...you (yes you) can make that happen. Will it bring you peace and happiness? I doubt it, you'll probably get killed yourself if you try to make those things disappear from the world. But you can try. This story we're living in, the plot is up to you.

If you don't want to live in this world, you don't have to. There's nothing that can control you, unless you let it.

Well if we only had good things in the world then the world wouldn't be interesting for God. There would be no point for God to create it.

I'm a Baha'i, a member of the Baha'i Faith. We believe there is only one God, that sent Buddha, Jesus, Moses, etc to humanity, now Baha’u’llah has come.
