Its really simple...

Good and bad are concepts that exist in sentient minds, an experience will always sit somewhere along the line range of good-bad.

Morality is a concept dealing with good and bad, it is a description of an actions effects on sentient beings, if an action causes more overall good experience then bad, then its moral. etc

its all very very simple and obvious, God simply does not come into it at all.

Surely if two people both do a good thing, if one of them does it because they think they will be rewarded, and the other does it because they believe its the right thing to do... surely the later is a much more moral person?

How could this be possible? surely beliefs simply form from experience. no one chooses to believe something. right?

The problem with the teleological argument is that one must ignore the distinction between manmade things, and natural things.

The truth about the teleological argument is that it confuses complexity of an object, with our ability to recognize man altered objects.

I propose we teach how indoctrination works in schools..

- music, meditation, and prayer used to induce hallucinations

- repetition of a doctrine to make people believe it

- distraction

- teach how easily fooled our perceptions are (magic shows are a good example)

Why is it that people who live near the equator are darker skinned, tall and thin?

Why are people who live in areas with far less sun are so white and generally shorter and chubby?

evolution explains all of this quite well.. being dark skinned tall and thin is selected for because of the high sun levels and heat (tall thin bodies can loose heat far better, and dark skin protects from sun damage)

being white and chubby is selected for by low sun level areas, vitamin D comes from the sun, and is essential to us, dark skinned individuals have major problems ever a generation or two when living in low light level environments.

horses and donkeys both descended from the same animal, they have deviated enough that they cannot interbreed very well, but not so much that they cannot breed at all.
